Abstract:	Ausgehend von der Zielsetzung einer kostenoptimierten Unterhaltung von bestehenden Bauwerken werden gegenwärtige nationale und internationale Normungsaktivitäten auf dem Gebiet der Bauwerksüberwachung und -bewertung vorgestellt. Ein derzeit in der BAM laufendes Projekt, das sich mit einem Konzept zur Tragfähigkeitsbewertung bestehender Bauwerke und dessen praktischer Umsetzung befaßt, wird inhaltlich beschrieben.
