Abstract:	Für die stützenfreie Überspannung des großen Theatersaales in dem King Fahd Cultural Centre in Riyadh, erwies sich das Stahlfachwerk als wirtschaftlichste Konstruktion. Entwurf und Montageplanung wurden auf die klimatischen Verhältnisse und die besonderen Bedingungen der Baustelle abgestimmt. Für den Montagezustand waren erhöhte Temperaturdifferenzen zwischen der Stahlkonstruktion und dem Betonunterbau zu berücksichtigen. Trotz der zentralen Lage des Saales, inmitten des Gebäudekomplexes, konnte die Montage mit den auf der Baustelle vorhandenen Hebezeugen und dem vorhandenen Gerüstmaterial bewerkstelligt werden. Geschraubte Stöße und Vormontage am Boden gewährleisteten einen zügigen und sicheren Montageablauf.
