Abstract:	Die 170 m weit gespannte Brücke La Cartuja verbindet die Altstadt von Sevilla mit dem Gelände der Weltausstellung 1992. Bei einem internationalen Wettbewerb für Entwurf und Bau dieser Brücke errang ein stählerner Durchlaufträger mit einseitiger Voute und der bemerkenswerten Schlankheit von 1/57 bzw. 1/28 den 1. Preis. Durch Verteilung der Fertigung auf drei Werkstätten und Montage parallel zum Ufer mit anschließendem Eindrehen konnte die Brücke nach einer Bauzeit von nur 12 Monaten dem Verkehr übergeben werden.
