Abstract:	Es wird die Stahlkonstruktion für den neuen kohlengefeuerten Block 9 des Kesselhauses Walsum bei Duisburg beschrieben. Beachtung fanden die Hauptkomponenten der Konstruktion, die aus dem 95 m hohen Kesselgerüst, den vier Kohlenbunkern mit einer Kapazität von 3200 t Kohle, und dem Gerüst des DeNOx-Reaktors und des Luftvorwärmers besteht. Der zentrale Teil der Konstruktion ist die 28x31x95 m turmhohe Gitterkonstruktion, die den aufgehängten Kessel stützt. Sie ist für eine Belastung von 47 000 kN dimensioniert und stützt die angrenzenden Laufgänge und anderen Komponenten wie z. B. den DeNOx-Reaktor und die Luftvorwärmer. Die beiden letzten Komponenten allein machen 36 000 kN der Belastung aus. Durch die Wahl der großen horizontalen Abmessungen von 28x31 m konnte der zentrale Turm den größten Teil der horizontalen Belastungen aufnehmen.
