Abstract:	Das Versagen eines Tragwerkelements kann zum Versagen anderer Tragwerkelemente führen. Auf diese Weise kann sich das Versagen als progressiver Kollaps durch große Teile oder die Gesamtheit des Bauwerks fortpflanzen. Es wird ein Überblick über den aktuellen Stand der Forschung im Bereich des progressiven Kollapses gegeben. Grundlagen für eine künftig regelhafte Gewährleistung von Resistenz gegen progressiven Kollaps werden dargelegt. Untersuchungsmethoden sowie Entwurfs- und Nachweisregeln werden diskutiert.
