Abstract:	Die Beurteilung älterer Stahlbrücken für ihre weitere Nutzung ist eine Aufgabe, die weit über das hinausgeht, was der Entwurf einer neuen Brücke erfordert. Material, Fügetechnik und entsprechend gestaltete Konstruktionsdetails verlangen eine intensive Beschäftigung mit der Ingenieurkunst aus der Zeit der Errichtung der Brücken. Hilfreich sind experimentelle Untersuchungen, die sowohl das Material als auch den tatsächlichen Kraftfluß in der Konstruktion betreffen. Über mehrere Untersuchungen dieser Art wird berichtet wie auch über Ermüdungsversuche an komplett ausgebauten Brücken oder an großen Teilen von diesen zur Bestätigung von zuvor getroffenen Aussagen zur Restnutzungsdauer.
