Abstract:	In den Jahren 2007 bis 2010 wurden durch die Deutsche Bahn AG anspruchsvolle Instandsetzungs- und Ertüchtigungsmaßnahmen am Bahrmühlenviadukt bei Chemnitz ausgeführt. Erläutert werden die zur Qualitätssicherung wichtigen Planungsschritte am Beispiel der denkmalgeschützten Natursteinbogenbrücke. Beschrieben werden die Planungsziele und ausgewählte Ergebnisse der Bestands- und Bauwerkszustandsanalyse als wichtige Projektgrundlagen. Das Projekt liefert einen überzeugenden Nachweis für die technische Eignung und Anpassungsfähigkeit von historischen Gewölbebogenbrücken an moderne Nutzungsanforderungen.
