Breiten Raum nimmt der praktische Katastrophenschutz ein - Themen sind hier u. a. der Beitrag der Tragwerksplanung im Katastrophenfall, die Krisenkommunikation und satellitengestützte Lösungen für den Katastrophenschutz. The current edition of the Flood Control & Disaster Management special is devoted to a wide range of topics, including effective forecasting and early warning systems, planning of mobile and permanent flood defence measures and structures, river training and dyke building works. New topics include the technical options for coastal protection, the solution to communication problems in disaster control, current EU directives and protection against avalanche risks.
