Abstract:	Eine junge Universität wird 50 - die Ruhr-Universität in Bochum. Grund genug auch auf die dortige Fakultät für Bau- und Umweltingenieurwissenschaften zurückzuschauen, die sich 1973 - wenige Jahre nach der Universitätsgründung - aus ihrer “Keimzelle“, dem Institut für Konstruktiven Ingenieurbau, bildete. Der Beitrag stellt besondere Aspekte der bewegten und erfolgreichen Historie vor mit ihren prägenden Persönlichkeiten hin zur heutigen Fakultätsstruktur und Forschungsausrichtung. Civil Engineering at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in the year of anniversary - a review. A young university celebrates its 50th anniversary - the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum. Reason enough to review the history of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, a university’s offspring in 1973 from the Department of Structural Engineering. Insight into its eventful and successful history is provided presenting its significant personalities as well as the nowadays constitution and main fields of research.
