Abstract:	Die Normen zur visuellen Sortierung von Konstruktionsholz sind in ihrer Anwendung umstritten, hinsichtlich der Reproduzierbarkeit ihrer Ergebnisse fragwürdig und wirtschaftlich unbefriedigend. Als eine Alternative zur visuellen Sortierung bietet sich die Ultraschall-Laufzeitmessung an. Die Anwendung diese Verfahrens bei der Klassifizierung von Konstruktionsholz im Einschnitt als auch bei der Überprüfung des Tragwerkzustandes in Sanierungsvorhaben soll untersucht und im Hinblick auf die Sicherheit und Wirtschaftlichkeit bewertet werden.
