Abstract:	Defizite im Einsatz von EDV-Werkzeugen liegen u. a. in der Qualität der Visualisierung, in der Generierung von 3D-Daten und in der Abbildung von Funktionalitäten. Die Virtuelle Realität stellt eine neue Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle dar. Sie erlaubt es dem Benutzer, virtuelle, nur im Datenraum vorhandene Strukturen individuell in Echtzeit zu betrachten und zu berwerten. Mit ihr ist eine sehr weitgehende Beurteilung des dynamischen Verhaltens von Tragstrukturen schon in einem sehr frühen Entwurfsstadium möglich. Das wird am Beispiel einer einfachen Strutur aufgezeigt.
