Abstract:	In den Zeiten vor der objektorientierten Planung musste der Ingenieur das zunächst nur in seiner eigenen dreidimensionalen Vorstellung existierende Bauwerk auf eine zweidimensionale Darstellung im Plan herunterbrechen. Dank BIM muss er diese Abstraktion heute nicht mehr durchführen. Er plant jetzt dreidimensional inklusive aller zugehörigen Mengen und Kosten, die als zusätzliche Informationen im Modell enthalten sind. Der Bauherr erhält mit der Planung eine optimierte Entscheidungsgrundlage und kann seine eigenen Schwerpunkte setzen. Somit ist der Planer in der Lage, das Bauwerk optimal an eine Vielzahl an Vorgaben anzupassen. Was hier möglich ist, zeigen ausgewählte Projektbeispiele aus dem Hoch- und Ingenieurbau. Customized structures with BIM Before the arrival of object-oriented design the engineer had to break down the structure, which initially only existed in his own three-dimensional imagination, into a two-dimensional representation in the drawing. Thanks to BIM he no longer has to carry out this abstraction today. He now designs three-dimensionally including all associated quantities and costs, which are contained in the model as additional information. With the design the owner receives an optimized decision-making tool and can set his own priorities. The designer is thus in a position to optimally adapt the structure to a multitude of requirements. Selected project examples from building construction and civil engineering show what is possible here.
