Abstract:	Am Standort Baumgasse 129 im dritten Wiener Gemeindebezirk, unmittelbar an der am stärksten befahrenen Straße Österreichs, wurde im März 2017 die neue Zentrale des Österreichischen Automobil-, Motorrad- und Touringclub ÖAMTC eröffnet. Auf neun Ebenen des so genannten Mobilitätszentrums, mit einer Bruttogeschossfläche von 27 000 m2, entstanden Büro-, Konferenz- und Schulungsräumlichkeiten. Diese bieten ein innovatives Arbeitsumfeld für rund 800 Mitarbeiter und fassen gleichzeitig fünf Bürostandorte zentral zusammen. Das Gebäude ist in Form einer Felge mit fünf “Bürospeichen” angelegt. Die 230 m lange und beinahe 17 m hohe Ringfassade ist das architektonische Highlight der neuen ÖAMTC-Zentrale und bildet gleichzeitig das verbindende Element, das sich von Speiche zu Speiche erstreckt und somit einerseits als Schutzwand zur Wiener Südosttangente dient, andererseits konnten so die Fluchtwege aus den Büroräumlichkeiten konstruktiv in die Stahlkonstruktion integriert werden. Somit konnten die Tiefen des Bürogebäudes ausgenutzt und die Massivtreppenhäuser kleiner gehalten werden. Die prominent positionierte Stahl-Glaskonstruktion der Ringfassade konnte durch den konsequenten Einsatz von BIM-(Building Information Modeling)Technologien im Zuge der Ausführungsplanung durch das Zusammenspiel der planenden Architekten, des Tragwerksplaners und der ausführenden Unternehmen umgesetzt werden. Für die Ringfassade, die Hochgarage, den Hangar, den Heliport sowie die sieben Atriumstiegen zeichnet die international tätige Unger Steel Group aus Oberwart/Österreich verantwortlich. An amazing ring - the new ÖAMTC-Headquarter - An architectural highlight along the Vienna's southeast tangential freeway. In March 2017, the new ÖAMTC-Headquarter, located along of one of Austria's heaviest trafficked roads, was opened to public in Vienna's third district, Baumgasse 129. The new so called mobility centre boasts nine levels of offices, conference spaces and training facilities, having a gross floor area of 27 000 m2. This new and innovative workplace environment consolidates five former local branches. The plan view of the building equals a rim of a wheel where each building wing represents one of five spokes. The ring facade, with a length of 230 m and a height of almost 17 m represents the architectonical highlight of the new ÖAMTC-Headquarter and is connecting the spokes. The ring facade is both, a noise barrier and a main escape path. Due to the external location, there is only one internal escape stair, hence allowing an optimized floor layout. The prominent steel and glass ring structure of the building was designed using and consequent practicing BIM (Building Information Modeling) by the Architects, the Engineers and the Executing Companies. Unger Steel Group located in Oberwart were responsible for the realisation of the steel structure of the ring facade, storey car park, hangar and the helipad as well as the seven atrium stairs.
