Title:

Abstract:

Experimental determination of desorption isotherms for aerated concrete of different density, by the standard SSS method and by the DVS technique.
The article presents an assessment of two research techniques for setting moisture desorption isotherms: the traditional SSS measurement method (Saturated Salt Solution) and the DVS technique (Dynamic Vapor Sorption). The problem of compatibility of the two methods was tested on aerated concrete of four density classes: 400, 500, 600 and 700 kg/m3. The results obtained by the application of the two methods show good compatibility in case of all concretes tested, in humidity range from 0 % to 75 %. In the range of high humidity, from 75 %-85 % up to 98 %, there appeared a considerable diversification of desorption isotherm courses set by the two different methods, particularly being observed in case of higher density classes.
