Title: | BIM in der Hochschullehre - Entwicklung - Status quo - Handlungsbedarf |
Academic teaching of BIM - development - status quo - demand for action The digitalisation of the construction industry and consequently the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is currently one of the biggest challenges in the construction industry. A key success factor are - though still missing - (young) professionals with adequate BIM-knowledge. This was recognized by higher education institutions, so that BIM is already taught at many higher education institutions. In the first part of the paper the status quo and development of academic teaching of BIM from 2015-2017 is presented. In 2015 28 out of 69 (41 %) higher education institutions offered BIM. Over the last two years the number has risen to 41 (59 %) higher education institutions. In addition to that the distinction between universities and universities of applied sciences as well as the differences between architecture and civil engineering degree programs are considered. In the second part of the paper the target state of BIM learning contents is defined. Afterwards in the examination the current state is depicted to reveal the gap between target and current state. Based on this, recommendations for higher education institutions are made. Especially BIM modules with interdisciplinary BIM-projects, where students experience the new work and communications processes, need to be increased. |
