Beim Bau der zweiten Schleuse Trier wurden die Kammerwandoberflächen in Teilbereichen mit konventioneller, saugender Schalhaut, in anderen Bereichen unter Verwendung einer wasserabführenden Schalungsbahn hergestellt. Die Bauausführung mit der wasserabführenden Schalungsbahn wies gegenüber der saugenden Schalung deutliche Vorteile auf. Die Eigenschaften der Betonrandzone, wie Festigkeit und Dichtigkeit, konnten deutlich verbessert werden. Mit den verbesserten Oberflächeneigenschaften werden eine höhere Dauerhaftigkeit sowie Erleichterungen bei der Unterhaltung erwartet.
Die Ausführung mit der zusätzlich aufzubringenden Schalungsbahn bedeutete einen zusätzlichen Aufwand, der aber durch kürzere Nachbehandlungszeiten und deutlich geringere Nacharbeiten weitgehend wieder kompensiert wurde.

Experiences with permeability formwork liner at the second lock of Trier
During construction of the second lock of Trier in some areas the lock chamber walls were covered with conventional, absorptive formwork, in other areas with permeability formwork liner. Concrete surfaces with permeability formwork liner showed significant advantages compared to surfaces with absorptive formwork. The properties of the concrete edge zone like strength and density could be considerably improved. It is expected that the improved surface properties will lead to higher durability as well as to facilitated maintenance work. The construction with additional permeability formwork liner meant additional work; however, it was compensated by shorter time of curing and significantly less post-processing.
