Abstract:	Im Streckennetz der DB Netz AG befinden sich über 25 000 Eisenbahnbrücken. Zur Gewährleistung der Sicherheit beim Befahren der Brücken sind neben regelmäßigen Kontrollen durch entsprechend geschultes Fachpersonal Nachrechnungen in Bezug auf Tragsicherheit und Restnutzungsdauer erforderlich. Bereits im Jahre 1923 wurde nach Gründung der Deutschen Reichsbahn eine Abteilung Brückenmesswesen beim Zentralamt in Berlin geschaffen, um wirksam die Lösung der vielschichtigen brückentechnischen Fragen zu unterstützen. Messungen direkt am Bauwerk geben Aufschluss über das Systemverhalten unter den realen Bedingungen und ermöglichen damit eine objektive Beurteilung der Trag- und Ermüdungsreserven. The department of bridge measurement of DB Netz AG. Over 25 000 railway bridges lie within the route network of the DB Net AG. The safe use of these bridges is ensured through regular checks by trained personal and is augmented by calculations regarding structural safety, fatigue and residual lifetime. In 1923, only 3 years after the foundation of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, a specialized department was founded at the Berlin headquarters to effectively address the complex technical issues relating to railway bridges. In-situ direct measurements provide information of the complete system's behavior under real life conditions enabling objective assessments.
