Abstract:	Der Löwenhof ist eines der wenigen erhaltenen historischen, nicht sakralen Bauwerke innerhalb des Dortmunder Wallrings. Im Vorfeld einer brandschutztechnischen Ertüchtigung wurde die Deckenkonstruktion stellenweise freigelegt. Der schlechte Zustand des Tragwerks führte zu einer Nachrechnung, die Mängel in der Aufstellungsstatik, der Konstruktion und der Bauausführung offenbarte. Das Gebäude, durch die Volkshochschule Dortmund zuletzt als Veranstaltungsstätte genutzt, wurde für den Publikumsverkehr gesperrt. Dieser Artikel beschreibt den Weg der Planungsgruppe, der über Bauwerksdiagnostik, Tragwerksplanung und experimentelle Methoden letztendlich zum Erhalt des Bauwerks führte. Löwenhof (Lion's Courtyard) in Dortmund - experimental safety evaluation of historic reinforced concrete slabs Löwenhof (Lion's Courtyard) is one of few existing historic buildings in the city of Dortmund. During the planning phase of fire protection rehabilitation measures its structural quality was assessed poor. A recalculation showed faults in its static of 1912, the construction and its workmanship. The building, used last as an adult education centre, was closed for the public. This article describes how the project team solved the task to preserve the building using alternative approaches, starting with building diagnostics and ending with structural planning including load testing.
