Abstract:	Das Taminatal, mit dem linksseitigen Dorf Valens und dem rechtsseitigen Dorf Pfäfers, wurde bisher auf beiden Seiten durch je eine oberhalb der Schlucht angelegte Straße erschlossen. Beide Straßen gingen vom Ortszentrum von Bad Ragaz aus und gewannen zunächst mit mehreren Kehren in den bewaldeten steilen Hängen des Tamina- bzw. Rheintals an Höhe. Die linksseitige Valenserstraße befand sich mehrheitlich in einem schlechten baulichen Zustand. Sie führte durch ein aktives Rutschgebiet und aufgrund der damit verbundenen geologischen Risiken genügte diese Straße auf weiten Teilen nicht mehr den heutigen und zukünftigen Anforderungen. Mit der nun fertiggestellten 417 m langen Taminabrücke wird die Valenserstraße umfahren. Die Brücke überquert die Taminaschlucht in 200 m Höhe. Sie bildet das Hauptbauwerk der zwischen Frühjahr 2013 und Sommer 2017 errichteten neuen Zufahrtsstraße für das Taminatal. Ausgeführt wurde der als Sieger aus einem einstufigen, anonymen Wettbewerb hervorgegangene Entwurf des Büros Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner. Tamina bridge - construction method for the biggest arch bridge in Switzerland The Tamina valley, with the villages Valens on the left side and Pfäfers on the right, had been so far accessible by roads high above the canyon, starting from the center of Bad Ragaz. From there they won first height with a series of bends. The left-hand road to Valens was in a bad structural condition. It lead through an active slide area and due to the related geological risks was no longer sufficient to the current and future requirements. Now, with the new 417 m long bridge across the Tamina valley, the road to Valens can be avoided by crossing the canyon in a remarkable height of 200 m above the gorge. The Tamina bridge forms the main structure within the new access road to the Tamina valley which was built between spring 2013 and summer 2017. Executed was the winning design of Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner Beratende Ingenieure VBI AG.
