Title:	Tolerance requirements for flange connections in wind turbine support structures
Abstract:	Flatness tolerances for bolted steel flanges in wind turbine support structures are a much discussed topic. The tolerances that are currently used in the industry and provided in relevant codes and standards were devised around 10-15 years ago, and their application for the significantly larger dimensions of current towers and flanges is frequently questioned. In this paper, these tolerance requirements are presented together with their historical background, and a methodology for adapting them based on a determination of gap-closing behaviour is proposed. Die derzeit verwendeten Grenzwerte wurden vor etwa 10-15 Jahren festgelegt und die Anwendung derselben Werte für deutlich größere Abmessungen aktueller Flanschverbindungen wird häufig in Frage gestellt. In diesem Beitrag werden die aktuellen Werte vor ihrem historischen Hintergrund dargestellt und eine Methode zur Anpassung der Werte basierend auf den die Klaffung schließenden Spannungen wird vorgeschlagen.
