Abstract:	Die alte Comeniusbrücke über die Elbe aus dem Jahr 1886, die das historische Zentrum der Stadt mit einem neueren Stadtteil auf dem rechten Ufer des Flusses verband, wurde im Juni 2013 vom Hochwasser zerstört. Das Autorenteam siegte in einem zur Erneuerung der Brücke ausgelobten Architektenwettbewerb mit einem ungewöhnlichen Entwurf eines dreiseitig vorgespannten Balkens. Aufgrund ihrer Subtilität fand diese Konstruktion vor allem bei den Vertretern der Denkmalpflege großen Zuspruch, denn sie versprach, das historische Stadtpanorama nur minimal zu beeinträchtigen. Die neue Brücke dient dem Fußgänger- und Fahrradverkehr sowie den Fahrzeugen der Unterhaltung bis zu 3,5 t Gesamtgewicht. Darüber hinaus dient sie als Träger für die Wasserleitung und die Leitungen der öffentlichen Beleuchtung. Sie ist 61, 50 m lang und überspannt zwischen den Lagern 59,50 m. The new Comenius Bridge in Jarom/Czech Republic. The old Comenius Bridge was constructed over the River Elbe in 1886. It connected the historical centre of the town with the new right-bank district, but was destroyed by floods in June 2013. The present authors won the architectural competition with their unusual concept of a three-side pre-stressed beam to replace the original. The filigree structure impressed national heritage representatives because it offers almost completely undisturbed views of the historical panorama. The new bridge is designed for the use of pedestrians and cyclists; access is also permitted for maintenance vehicles of up to 3.5 t. It also carries water supply piping and public lighting cables. The bridge is 61.50 m long and the span between supports is 59.50 m.
