Title: | Metallfassade mit flexiblen organischen Solarfolien |
Sustainable light metal construction with flexible organic solar films. The continuous extraction, distribution and storage of naturally occurring renewable energy sources is becoming increasingly important in order to achieve the desired energy turnaround. The focus here is on harnessing solar energy and this can become the driving factor behind the energy system transformation. In future, areas that have been used to a limited extent to date, such as facades, can be used for electricity generation. For this purpose, systems have to be developed that meet high architectural requirements, can be implemented without major additional planning and construction work and have a high level of energy efficiency. As part of an R&D project, in a cooperation between the Chair for Sustainable Metal Building Envelopes at RWTH Aachen University, Hans Laukien GmbH from Kiel and Heliatek GmbH from Dresden, a novel facade solution is being developed in a combination of organic photovoltaics and a rear-ventilated curtain facade system. The very light, thin and flexible solar foils are particularly suitable for use in lightweight metal constructions, as only a small amount of additional loads have to be transferred over the facade. The new facade system is therefore suitable both for new buildings and for cladding existing facades. The aim of the R&D project is to develop and measure a marketable prototype of the metal facade with integrated organic photovoltaics. |
