Abstract:	Es wird darauf hingewiesen, daß man einerseits noch ganz am Anfang der Erforschung des Brandverhaltens von Gesamtkonstruktionen steht, daß aber andererseits derartige Kenntnisse dringend benötigt werden, um das Zusammenspiel von Wirtschaftlichkeit und Sicherheit der Bauwerke weiterhin zu verbessern. Durch systematische Untersuchungen von Rahmenserien mit Großmodellen sollen Versagensarten, -phänomene und -daten erarbeitet und bereitsgestellt werden. Insbesondere die Kopplung von Großmodell-Versuchstechnik und rechnerisch-theoretischer Untersuchung führt zur experimentellgestützten Computersimulation mit dem Ziel, grundsätzliche Daten zum brandschutzgerechten Entwerfen, Konstruieren und Bemessen für Stahl- und Verbundkonstruktionen für die Praxis bereitzustellen.
