Trough bridges with thick track plate - thick plate bridges: information for design and building In the network of the federal railway, the replacement with new constructions becomes more and more important for older bridges. Usually the superstructures span less than 20 m. Because of the geometrical limitations for the gradients of the traffic routes above and below the superstructure the trough bridge with thick track plate was developed. This bridge type allows a very low construction height. This article is to inform the responsible engineers about the state of the regulations and to provide indications of design specifications. |
