Abstract:	Wer sich ein bisschen für Bauen und Architektur interessiert, kennt das Dreischeibenhaus in Düsseldorf als eine der stählernen Ikonen der Moderne. Aber über die architektonische Bedeutung hinaus hat das Hochhaus auch statisch-konstruktiv einiges zu bieten. Die aufgehende Konstruktion einschließlich des Kerns ist ein nahezu reines Stahlskelett. Die Rohrstützen waren dem Bauherrn Phoenix-Rheinrohr geschuldet. Die Deckenkonstruktion mit leichten Verbundträgern und 8 cm dünnen Betonplatten trägt maßgeblich zur herausragenden Leichtigkeit der Gesamtkonstruktion bei. Inzwischen ist das Dreischeibenhaus liebevoll modernisiert. Interessantester Punkt ist hierbei die Fassade, welche das historische Erscheinungsbild bewahrt, aber technisch auf der Höhe der Zeit ist.
