Abstract:	Meinem Hochschullehrer Herrn Professor Dr.-Ing. Prof. h.c. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Hans-Wolf Reinhardt für fast 20 Jahre intensiver und spannender Zusammenarbeit gewidmet Aus Anlass des 80. Geburtstags von HANS-WOLF REINHARDT wird in diesem Beitrag eines der wichtigsten Messverfahren dargestellt, an dessen Entwicklung er maßgeblich beteiligt war - der Einsatz der Ultraschalltechnik zur Analyse von Frischbeton und zur Qualitätssicherung von Mörtel, Beton und Betonwaren. Zur Hervorhebung der Verdienste von Prof. REINHARDT wird die Entwicklung an der Universität Stuttgart zusammengefasst und einige unter seiner Leitung mit den entwickelten Messgeräten gewonnenen Ergebnisse präsentiert. Der Artikel zeigt zudem die Leistungsfähigkeit des Verfahrens und präsentiert einige neuere Anwendungsbeispiele. Ein Abschnitt ist dem internationalen Stand hinsichtlich Zusammenarbeit auf dem Gebiet gewidmet. Der Autor hofft, mit diesem Artikel weitere Wissenschaftler und Anwender für die Thematik zu interessieren, damit noch stärker als bisher das Verfahren Eingang in die Baupraxis erhält. Development and application of ultrasonic techniques for the quality control of concrete This paper is dedicated to Prof. REINHARDT for excellent supervision and exciting research. He was about 20 years my supervisor and mentor. On the occasion of the 80th birthday of Prof. HANS-WOLF REINHARDT, one of the most important modern measuring techniques for concrete quality control is discussed. It was developed under his guidance and facilitates the ultrasound technique for monitoring and analyzing fresh concrete and mortar properties during setting and hardening. To stress Prof. Reinhardt's merits, the developments at the University of Stuttgart are summarized. They culminated in one of the first commercially available modern test device that was the blueprint for other devices. The paper is giving also an introduction into the capabilities of the technique along with some more recent example of applications and a brief overview about standardization activities. The author's hope is that more scientists and practitioners are stimulated to use and further develop this technique establishing it on a broader range in the area of building constructions.
