Abstract:	Das Mannesmann-Hochhaus wurde 1955-1958 am Düsseldorfer Rheinufer für den Industriekonzern als Verwaltungsgebäude neben dem bestehenden Stammhaus gebaut. Dass die Stadtsilhouette prägende Gebäude im Stile der Nachkriegsmoderne ist eines der ersten modernen Hochhäuser Deutschlands. Neben dem Architekten Paul Schneider-Esleben ist es insbesondere das Verdienst des Tragwerksplaners Georg Lewenton, dass dieses schlanke und transparente Gebäude so möglich wurde. Beraten und unterstützt haben auch Fritz Leonhardt (TH Stuttgart) bei den Knaggen-Anschlüssen an die Stützen aus Mannesmannrohren oder Theodor Kristen (TH Braunschweig) bei den Versuchen mit dünnen Brandschutzputzen. Das Mannesmann-Hochhaus ist ein schönes Beispiel, dass sichtbare architektonische Leistungen auch immer die weniger sichtbaren Beiträge der planenden und forschenden Ingenieure und einer innovativen Industrie bedürfen.
