Experimental investigation of failure processes on chemical anchors with an in situ-test model Topic of this present work is the analysis of failure processes of chemical anchors. This is relevant as it is the only way to optimize the sustainability of chemical anchors by understanding its failure processes. In previous experiments several attempts were made to make the failure processes of chemical anchors investigable. The real load-dependent course of the failure processes, especially at combined failure, of chemical anchors has not been fully clarified. The aim of this contribution is the experimental investigation of the failure processes of chemical anchors under increasing tensile load. Since the continuous analysis of the real failure processes was not possible with previous methods a new experimental in situ-model will be introduced. Result of this investigation is the load dependent analysis of the failure processes of twelve chemical anchors with vinylester mortar. The achieved results allow the conclusion that 30 % of the occurred cracks emerged in the lower 10 % of the bonded part of the threaded rod. The crack initiation occurs at the aggregate of the concrete already at 35 % of the pull-out force. The occurring cracks then grow further to the thread flanks of the chemical anchor with increasing load. The gained knowledge of this investigation can be used for improving the calculation of chemical anchors. |
