Abstract:	Aufgrund von Ermüdungsschäden an der orthotropen Fahrbahn der Rheinbrücke Maxau wurde eine Ertüchtigung der Fahrbahn erforderlich. Diese wird durch das Aufbringen einer Aufbetonplatte aus hochfestem Beton realisiert. Die Bauweise wurde bereits mehrfach durch Anwendungen im Ausland und begleitende wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen erprobt. In Deutschland stellt die Fahrbahnertüchtigung der Maxauer Brücke die erste Anwendung auf einer großen Stahlbrücke dar. Im Vorfeld wurden hierzu Erfahrungen an einem vorgezogenen Pilotprojekt gesammelt. Die Herstellung einer Probeplatte ist ein wichtiges Instrument der Qualitätssicherung im Projekt. Die Bauausführung wird detailliert beschrieben. Abschließend wird auf das begleitende Monitoring und die Umsetzung der Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung eingegangen. Nach der erfolgreichen Durchführung der Maßnahme ist künftig auch in Deutschland mit einer breiteren Anwendung dieser Ertüchtigungsmethode zu rechnen. Reinforcement of the Rhein-bridge Maxau - part 2 Due to fatigue cracks in the orthotropic plate of the Rhein-bridge Maxau, the reinforcement of the bridge deck is carried out by bonding a high strength concrete overlay to the deck. In Germany it is the first time, that a deck of a big steel bridge is strengthened in that manner. Valuable experience was obtained in a pilot project in advance. The construction process is described in detail. The succesful realization will allow further applications of this strengthening technique in Germany.
