The first building of the new campus in Arlesheim - a competence centre for industry 4.0 On the former site of Stamm Bau AG, the Schorenareal in Arlesheim, uptown Basel AG is developing and realising a modern campus in the immediate vicinity of the economic centre Basel. The aim is to establish a leading swiss location for industry 4.0 on the new campus. The first construction of several buildings is currently nearing completion. The sustainable building is to be available for tenants with automated work and production processes and should be as flexible and modular as possible. The ground floor is almost column-free - the three floors above are supported by truss girders. The parts of the two upper floors that overhang on all sides are supported by external trusses. Without the use of steel as the decisive structural design factor, none of this would be possible in its present form. |
