Abstract:	Dem langjährigen Montageleiter der Hein, Lehmann AG Herrn Dipl.-Ing. Paul Stern gewidmet Die Grundprinzipien der Montage von Brücken mit und ohne Rüstung sind zwischen 1850 und 1870 rasch gefunden. Die ursprünglichen Regiebetriebe Deutschlands wachsen in wenigen Jahrzehnten zu industriellen Brückenbauanstalten heran. Dank des Aufbaus einer arbeitsteiligen Produktionskette von Materialanlieferung - Konstruktion - Herstellung - Versand - Montage werden sie um die Jahrhundertwende zum wesentlichen Innovationstreiber des deutschen Großbrückenbaus. Um 1900 finden die Montageverfahren in der großen Industrie des Stahlbrückenbaus ihre klassische Ausprägung.
