Abstract:	Die steigenden Schiffsanläufe und Passagierzahlen in Rostock-Warnemünde, einem der bedeutendsten Standorte für den Kreuzfahrttourismus im Ostseeraum, erforderten eine Erweiterung und Modernisierung der Infrastruktur. Das neue Cruise-Terminal wurde 2020 eröffnet. Trotz der in diesem Jahr geringeren Auslastung durch die weltweite Corona-Pandemie bleibt die Nachfrage und Prognose für den Ostseeraum hoch. Die Gestaltung des Gebäudes folgt den Anforderungen der unterschiedlichen Nutzungen im Jahresverlauf als EU-Außengrenze und kommunaler Veranstaltungsraum. Die Windlasten waren aufgrund der exponierten Lage in unmittelbarer Küstennähe sowie durch die Position der Schiffe im Bezug zum Gebäude versuchsgestützt zu ermitteln. Der gewünschte repräsentative Charakter des Gebäudes, kombiniert mit einer komplizierten Gründungssituation, erzeugt ein außergewöhnliches Tragwerk in Stahlbauweise. In diesem Beitrag wird detailliert auf die anspruchsvolle Tragwerksplanung eingegangen. Rostock-Warnemünde cruise terminal: passenger handling, communal use, landmark The increasing numbers of ship visits and cruise passengers served in Rostock-Warnemünde, one of the most important locations for cruise tourism in the Baltic Sea region, required the port's infrastructure to be expanded and modernised. So a new cruise terminal was built, which opened in 2020. Despite the impact on the cruise industry of the global coronavirus pandemic, the outlook for the Baltic Sea region remains positive. The building's design caters to its different uses throughout the year, including as a European Union external border point and as a communal event space. The wind loads for the design had to be determined using testing due to the building's exposed location on the coast and the nearby docking locations of the ships. The desired imposing character of the building, combined with the site's challenging soil conditions, resulted in an extraordinary steel structure. The demanding structural design is discussed in detail.
