Title:	Die Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin - Berechnung und Fertigung des ikonenhaften Stahldachs
Abstract:	Die Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin und insbesondere die Stahlkonstruktion der Eingangshalle zählt zu den bekanntesten Bauten der Moderne. Fertiggestellt 1968, wird sie im August 2021 nach der Sanierung wiedereröffnet. Die Neue Nationalgalerie zählt als eines der letzten Meisterwerke des Architekten Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Hier wird jedoch die damalige Ingenieurleistung dahinter betrachtet, der Statiker Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. Dienst und G. Richter aus Berlin, der Prüfingenieure Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Roik und Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Sedlacek - zu der Zeit beide TU Berlin - sowie die Arbeit der Stahlbauer wie H. Oeter und H. Sontag. The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin - design and fabrication of an iconic steel roof The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin and especially the steel structure of the entrance hall is one of the most well-known buildings of Modernism. Finalised in 1968 it will be reopened after refurbishment in August 2021. Die Neue Nationalgalerie counts as one of the last master pieces of the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Nevertheless, we are looking here at the work of the engineers at the time, the structural engineers Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. Dienst and G. Richter from Berlin, the checking engineers Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Roik and Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Sedlacek - at this time both TU Berlin - as well as the work of the steel work contractors such as H. Oeter und H. Sontag.
