Abstract:	Herrn Dr.-Ing. Karl Morgen zum 70. Geburtstag gewidmet Auf dem früheren Gelände des Axel Springer Verlags in der Innenstadt von Hamburg wurde ein Neubaukomplex errichtet sowie das denkmalgeschützte ehemalige Verlagshochhaus instand gesetzt und modernisiert. In diesem Bericht werden die statisch-konstruktiven Herausforderungen der Tragwerksplanung im Bestand sowie beim Neubau erläutert. Darüber hinaus werden technische Aspekte der Baugrube für drei Untergeschosse des Neubaus und des Abbruchs der Bestandsgebäude beschrieben. Springer Quartier Hamburg - Structure and Building Pit On the former site of the Axel Springer Verlag in the center of Hamburg, a new building complex was erected, and the listed office building was repaired and modernized. This report explains the static-constructive challenges of structural design in existing and new buildings. In addition, technical aspects of the building pit for three basement floors of the new building and the demolition of the existing building are described.
