Abstract:	Im Rahmen dieses zweiteiligen Aufsatzes wird auf die brandschutztechnische Bemessung für Brettsperrholzelemente und -konstruktionen eingegangen und deren Besonderheit im Vergleich zu Voll- und Brettschichtholz aufgezeigt. Der nachfolgende erste Teil des Beitrags umfasst die Aspekte der Baustoffklassifikation sowie des Abbrandverhaltens und der Tragfähigkeitsbeurteilung von bekleideten und unbekleideten Brettsperrholzbauteilen im Brandfall. Der zweite Teil erläutert die Nachweisansätze der raumabschließenden Funktion, stellt die Prinzipien zur brandschutztechnisch sicheren Detailausbildung dar und gibt Erläuterungen zum Einfluss von Brettsperrholz auf die Branddynamik. Background and verification principles for the fire protection design of cross-laminated-timber constructions - part 1 The two-part paper describes the current state of the art about fire design methods for cross-laminated-timber elements and -structures and describe differences in comparison to the design with solid timber. In detail aspects like the reaction to fire classification, charring and load bearing behaviour of protected and unprotected cross laminated-timber elements in the case of fire are discussed within this first part. The second part of the paper explains the approaches for the separating function of cross laminated-timber elements, give design guidance about fire safe detailing and about the influence of visible timber members and elements regarding to the fire dynamic.
