Title:	Digitalisierung im Metallleichtbau
Abstract:	Die Digitalisierung der Planung, Konstruktion und Bauausführung führt zu einer Transformation des Berufsbilds bei Architekten und Ingenieuren. In diesen Fachbereichen unterstützen digitale Werkzeuge schon seit vielen Jahren die Entwurfs- und Designprozesse, doch gerade in der heutigen Zeit wird der Einsatz effizienter, digitaler und innovativer Technologien auf allen Arbeitsbereichen als unabdingbar betrachtet. Das Lehr- und Forschungsgebiet Nachhaltigkeit im Metallleichtbau an der RWTH Aachen University untersucht den Mehrwert des integrativen Einsatzes solcher Technologien im Metallleichtbau. Dieser Aufsatz gibt in diesem Kontext einen Einblick in Forschung und Lehre und stellt Projekte aus der Praxis vor. Digitalization in lightweight metal construction Digitalization of planning, design and construction leads to a transformation among architects and engineers. Digital tools have been supporting the drafting and design processes in these specialist areas for many years. Today the use of efficient, digital and innovative technologies in all work areas is considered indispensable. The teaching and research area of sustainability in lightweight metal construction at the RWTH Aachen University examines the added value of the integrative use of such technologies in lightweight metal construction. In this context the article provides an insight into research and teaching and presents practical projects.
