Abstract:	Es wird der Beanspruchungszustand in Tunnelverkleidungen und der Versagensmechanismus bei Überlastung im Kämpfer- und Scheitelbereich geschildert. Eine Reihe von Schadensfällen an Tunnelbauwerken wird erläutert und das Schadensbild erklärt. Es wird der Vorschlag gemacht durch Gelenke verformbare Tunnelverkleidungen zu konstruieren und somit ein insgesamt zäheres Verhalten zu erreichen. Eine spannungsoptische Überprüfung zeigt die Brauchbarkeit des Konzepts.
