Abstract:	In zwei Artikeln wird über Wettbewerb, Entwurf, Ausschreibung und Vergabe der Südbrücke Oberhavel berichtet. Gegenstand dieses ersten Artikels ist der Realisierungswettbewerb zur Südbrücke Oderhavel. Es werden die Wettbewerbsdurchführung sowie die technischen und gestalterischen Randbedingungen für den Entwurf beschrieben. Anhand des Entwurfs der Wettbewerbsgewinner wird die gemeinsame Herangehensweise des Ingenieurs und des Architekten an die Lösung der Aufgabe verdeutlicht. Für die Ausrichtung weiterer Brückenbauwettbewerbe werden Schlußfolgerungen gezogen.
