Abstract:	Der folgende Aufsatz ist der erste von zwei Beiträgen über den Bau der neuen Elbebrücke im Zuge der A4 in Dresden. Der erste Teil beinhaltet die Planung, den Entwurf sowie Ausschreibung und Vergabe. Die Elbebrücke ist eine der größten Brücken des Verkehrsprojektes Nr. 15 der Deutschen Einheit. Die Länge der Brücke beträgt 500 m, die Hauptspannweite beträgt 130 m. Die Brücke wird in Verbundbauweise als Hohlkastendurchlaufträger mit veränderlicher Bauhöhe ausgeführt. Die Brücke ist seit Juni 1995 im Bau, Verkehrsübergabe wird im Dezember 1998 sein.
