Abstract:	Gebaut wurde im Altertum mit Sicherheit vor der Erfindung jeglicher Schrift. Archäologische Funde in allen Teilen unserer Welt dokumentieren diese Tatsache. Würde man sogar als Argument den Bau des Turms von Babel aufführen, so wäre anzunehmen, daß die Kunst des Bauens viel älter als jegliche Sprache ist. Die Vielfalt der schönen Bauten der Antike, die von Mesopotamien, Ägypten, Griechenland, Asien bis Zentralamerika reichen und den Jahrtausenden sowie Naturereignissen (Flutkatastrophen, Vulkanausbrüchen, Erdbeben und Tsunamis) standgehalten haben, zeugen von einer weit entwickelten Baukunst, welche nicht nur die Schönheit der Architektur sondern auch die Sicherheit der Konstruktion inkl. der Gründung und das Wohlbefinden des menschlichen Wesens als Ziel hatte (Physik von Aristoteles, Buch B, Abs. 9).
