Structural Artist: Félix Candela Exhibit in Berlin
Last year Spain's capital celebrated the 100th birthday of Madrid-born Félix Candela (1910-97) with an exhibit which can now be visited in Berlin under the title "Künstler der Konstruktion" (Structural Artist).

The Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Affairs hosts in cooperation with the Munich trade fair, the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and the Bavarian Chamber of Structural Engineers a congress at the beginning of the trade fair on current construction-related questions. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Georg Heerten, general manager of NAUE GmbH & Co. KG (in Espelkamp-Fiestel, Germany) is the new chairman of the board of the German Geotechnical Society (DGGT). He was elected at the last DGGT general meeting held on 4 November 2010 in Munich to succeed long-time chairman Prof. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Manfred Nußbaumer M.Sc., Munich.
Anhalter Bahnhof, a railway station inaugurated in 1880 by Emperor William I
The first Anhalter Bahnhof began receiving railway trains on 1 July 1841. Because of the ever increasing amount of rail traffic, the building quickly became insufficient and despite several extensions was demolished to make way for the new station that is still known today.
"Roter Sand" Lighthouse becomes an historic civil engineering monument
