KurzfassungSlate facade in the DomRömer-Quartier, Frankfurt. In the completely new old town centre, the DomRömer-Quartier, 15 of 35 houses were built according to historic guidelines as “creative new buildings”. A further 20 “modern” buildings have been built on the basis of the historic town plan and according to the guidelines of the DomRömer design rules. The pattern of the slates to the gable front in the attic storey is worth mentioning. Instead of the usual laying to the right, the architect decided on a facade, in which the slating pattern runs to the left and right of the central window with left- and right-handed slating and thus forms a symmetrical gable. KurzfassungThere is currently an assessment system for sustainable house building in Germany for the assessment of sustainability of buildings with up to five residential units. In order to ensure practicality and update the assessment of houses to the state of the technology, selected fact sheets from the BNK criteria catalogue developed in 2015 were updated and further developed with specialist support from experts known all over Germany. x
Pohl, Sebastian; Schöttner, Robin | Greenhouse gas burdens and thermal storage effects over the building lifecycle / CO2-Tonnagen und Wärmespeichereffekte über den Lebenszyklus von Gebäuden | Mauerwerk | 3/2019 | 146-159 | Fachthemen |
KurzfassungThe study outlined in this article was intended to quantify the lifecycle assessment effects resulting from the different thermal storage capacities of the market-relevant construction methods masonry, reinforced concrete and timber frame. Independently reviewed and verified life cycle assessments of representative model homes were the starting point of this study. But the findings of available computer simulations concerning the thermal behaviour of the model homes suggest that different thermal storage capacities of construction materials induce significant deviations of the heating demand, which should also precipitate significant lifecycle assessment differences - because the overall lifecycle assessment results of a building are generally substantially determined by the energy demand during its use phase. x

KurzfassungThe paper presents the results of a series of 6 shear tests on full scale highly thermal insulating clay unit masonry walls. The walls consisted of units with large voids filled with mineral wool with a thermal conductivity of &lgr; = 0,07 W/(m · K). x

KurzfassungIn order to investigate the influence of a partially supported slab on the in-plane shear resistance of masonry walls, six shear tests on full scale walls were performed at the Chair of Structural Concrete of the University of Kassel in cooperation with “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mauerziegel”. The walls were made of large chamber clay masonry units and the depths of the partially supported slabs were different. The large chamber units are typically used for thermally insulated exterior walls, with the slabs only being partially supported. The influence of this constellation is not taken into account in shear capacity assessment according to the current version of Eurocode 6 for Germany. This article describes the test results and provides a comparison with Eurocode 6. In addition, the results of older shear tests on masonry walls made of vertically perforated units with eccentric load application were used. x
