22nd Bridge Symposium

Bridges - they connect and overcome. They connect people, overcome obstacles and sometimes they cause a sensation – be it for their technical prowess or because of public scandal. Both are the relatively rare moments where the works of civil engineers that remain inconspicuous otherwise come into the focus of public interest.

Traditionally, the bridge symposium in Dresden is held on the second Tuesday of the month of March. Annually on this day – this year it's on March, 13th – over a thousand bridge engineers meet at this greatest and most successful bridge conference to network but also to obtain information on current developments in their field of expertise.

The German Bridge Prize has also become a truly successful project and crowd puller and is awarded. For the fourth time this year, the prize will be awarded on the eve of the bridge sysmposium in Dresden. Reason enough to dedicate the February issues of Bautechnik and Stahlbau as well as the March issue of Beton- und Stahlbeton to this great event for bridge builders.
