Official farewell for Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stritzke

At the end there were standing ovations for Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stritzke. The initiator and driving force of the Dresden Bridge Symposium bade his team goodbye and passed the reins on to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Curbach, Director of the organizing Institute of Concrete Structures at Dresden Technical University.

Professor Curbach paid tribute to Jürgen Stritzke's work who organized the first bridge symposium in Dresden shortly after reunifcation in 1991: without any proceedings and a relatively short program. But even this first meeting already pointed the way along which the Dresden Bridge Symposium developped in the following years: offering a platform for bridge engineers for discussions and exchanging experiences in the design, construction and rehabilitation of concrete bridges.
