About the author
Dr.-Ing. Heinz Günter Schmidt wurde 1927 in Gleiwitz geboren. Er absolvierte das Studium des Bauingenieurwesens an der RWTH Aachen. Im Jahr 1986 promovierter er über die Gruppenwirkung von Pfählen an der TH Darmstadt. Über 35 Jahre lang war er bei der Bilfinger + Berger Bauaktiengesellschaft mit Baugrundfragen und Pfahlgründungen befasst; mehr als 20 Jahre Mitglied im Normenausschuss 'Pfähle'.
