In April, the third edition appears of the book Bauprozesse und Bauverfahren des Tunnelbaus (Construction Processes and Construction Methods in Tunnelling). Tunnelling is on the advance worldwide, and this complete manual imparts the best possible design safety and uninterrupted construction progress for every tunneller. The book presents all the methods used in the design and construction of modern tunnels, starting from the geological situation.

The book Glasbau 2013 (Glass Building Yearbook) appears for the second time in April. Well-known authors have contributed about thirty articles from their long experience in the fields of planning, design, construction and research, and the book is divided into these four fields.

In April, the new Stahlbau-Kalender (Steelwork Yearbook) appears. The Steelwork Yearbook provides a guideline for correct calculation in the entire field of steel structures, and reliably documents and comments the current state of steelwork standards.

In April, the second updated and extended edition of the book Angewandte Baudynamik (Applied Building Dynamics) from the civil engineering practice series appears. This book provides a basic understanding of the model ideas forming the basis for the theories and the terms of dynamics. The most important properties are described and illustrated with examples.

The new Bauphysik-Kalender (Building Physics Yearbook) appears in April 2013 with the main themes being sustainability and energy efficiency. In addition, the current standard DIN V 18599 is commented at first hand for the practice. This year's yearbook also explains and compares various certification systems and building energy standards.

Selected Chapters from the German Beton-Kalender are now being published in the new English “Beton Kalender Series” for the benefit of an international audience – the first two books will be available in April 2013.
Design and Construction of Nuclear Power Plants (TIFF, 4 MB)

The book describes all aspects of ground properties with the emphasis on site investigation, ground parameters, settlement and load-bearing verifications. Provided with numerous examples, this is an essential clarification aid for daily design practice.

This book is a comprehensive manual for analysing framed structures as well as plates and shells using elastic and plastic theory. It forms a work of reference for a multitude of problems encountered in everyday structural engineering.

The shortened text of Eurocode 2 Part 1-1 with National Annex has been summarised to a continuously readable text and all national requirements have been highlighted in colour. This abbreviated version is an ideal handbook for design practice for normal building projects (also available as an e-book).

The durable and economic design of structures today includes not only the verification of structural stability but also of the serviceability for the planned lifetime including the consideration of time-dependent actions and material properties of a structure. The Concrete Calendar 2013 includes a Commentary on structural fire design according to Eurocode 2 - DIN EN 1992 Part 1-2 and the associated National Annex.
