ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier)
To continue ensuring the best possible reach and remuneration for our authors, Ernst & Sohn has launched a major project to assign ISNIs to our authors and submit them to key systems such as VG Wort and the Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher (VLB – German Books in Print):
- VG Wort will make the ISNI a mandatory requirement in the future, enabling authors to be unambiguously linked to their contributions and facilitating royalty distributions.
- The ISNI will also become mandatory in the Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher (VLB) from the end of 2025, allowing users to clearly identify and find works by individual authors.
To provide the best possible support to our creators, Ernst & Sohn acts in the interest of its authors and will identify the relevant ISNI for every work published with Ernst & Sohn, or apply for a missing ISNI for works that have already been published.
If you would like to check whether you are already registered as an author, apply for an ISNI, or need further information regarding your entry in the VLB, you will find the relevant links here.
